AkzoNobel completes share buyback with €300M repurchased


AMSTERDAM – Paint and wood coatings finishing specialist AkzoNobel said it has completed a €300 million share buyback program initiated last October.

The company achieved this milestone with the repurchase of 193,550 of its common shares from April 12-16. It repurchased the additional shares at an average price of €98.43 per share for a total purchase price of €19.05 million.

The company said that it repurchased a total of 3,361,162 shares at an average price of €89.25 per share. These shares are being cancelled as part of the repurchase process.

The company will soon begin a €1 billion share buyback announced on Feb. 21. This is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
