Another online marketplace has popped up. This time it’s Kohl’s


MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. – Following a successful pilot, Kohl’s is expanding its new digital marketplace platform to include more furniture and home décor, among other categories.

The new marketplace offers customers a curated online assortment of new brands, products, and categories on Kohls.com, shipped directly from third-party merchants. It currently offers product categories such as home, apparel, fitness, wellness and toys. ‘

Kohl’s is pitching its new marketplace as an opportunity to reach its 65 million national customers. It is one of many retailers, including Walmart, Macy’s, Mathis Home and of course, Amazon, seeking to expand its online business through third-party sellers. The company is specifically seeking growth in home with furniture, kitchen, home décor, patio and garden. It is also looking to boost baby gear and pet supplies. Additional areas include apparel & accessories; sports & fitness; toys; baby gear and electronics.

The loyalty perks still apply when shopping the Kohl’s marketplace, as it is fully integrated into the company’s loyalty platform. Customers can earn and redeem Kohl’s Cash coupons, and Kohl’s Rewards, as well as pay for their marketplace purchases with their Kohl’s credit card.

The user experience identifies marketplace products with a badge, and items are shipped directly from third-party certified sellers. Kohl’s marketplace items are also eligible for in-store returns at any Kohl’s location.
