Clarke, Borgman join Dispatch Track as VPs

ron borgmaneric clarkeSAN JOSE, Calif. – Transportation industry veterans Eric Clarke and Ron Borgman have joined last-mile scheduling software provider DispatchTrack.

While Clarke and Borgman fulfill different roles, both hold the title vice president of business development.

DispatchTrack powers more than 35 million deliveries a year, according to the companu, and CEO Satish Natarajan said he looks forward to the two “bringing their talent and expertise to make our product and services the best in the industry.”

Clarke has 35 years of experience owning and operating motor carriers serving the furniture and produce industries, building large trucking networks and gaining extensive knowledge of first- and middle-mile operations. Prior to DispatchTrack Eric was vice president of the Northwest Region at Sunbelt Furniture Xpress, and president at Northwest Furniture Express and Four Truckers Inc.

“The impact their products have had on the furniture industry has been a game changer,” Clarke said of DispatchTrack. “I’m ready to push its capabilities even further, as challenging as that will be.”

Borgman has more than 20 years of experience in solving tough logistics challenges. In his early days at Herman Miller, Borgman helped connect dealers with headquarters via satellite to improve accuracy and efficiency. He saw the wave of e-commerce coming and started his own shipping business, Lodeso, which thrived for 15 years until 2016 when he and his partners sold the company to Schneider National. Now he has a new mission at DispatchTrack. His background will help DispatchTrack expand its product offerings in a very specific direction – serving the e-commerce channel.

Borgman noted that DispatchTrack requires no capital expenditure for hardware and with a “small” monthly fee, “the biggest e-tailers in the world can just turn the key and get moving. This software will have a tremendous impact on the shipping industry. Aside from big-box retailers that also have a big e-commerce presence, it’s a pure dot-com play.”

In addition to tapping Clarke’s and Borgman’s knowledge of and navigation of challenges from the first mile, through the last, DispatchTrack has made recent hires across marketing, sales and engineering, and is actively promoting product offerings and services in expanding industries such as building supplies, wine and spirits, food, janitorial and sanitation supplies, and wholesale distribution.

DispatchTrack has offices in San Jose, Calif.; Columbia, Md.; London; and Hyderabad, India.
