Tempur Sealy expands board to 9 members with 2 appointments


LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tempur Sealy International has named two new directors to its board increasing the board size to nine. Meredith Siegfried Madden has been named an independent director, and Simon Dyer has been appointed a non-independent director.

The company said the appointments will strengthen the board’s international and manufacturing experience.

Madden is CEO of Northeastern Oklahoma Research, Development and Manufacturing (the NORDAM Group), a private, family-owned global aerospace manufacturing company. She has worked with company since 1999 and held a number of operations and sales positions until her appointment in 2009 as chief operating officer. In 2011, she was named CEO. Prior to joining The NORDAM Group, Madden worked in consulting at Arthur Anderson & Co.

Dyer is a director and CEO of Dyer Holdings and various affiliated entities that have operated a number of joint ventures with Tempur Sealy. The joint ventures are managed by the Dyer Group and are engaged in manufacturing, marketing and distribution in China, Asia and the United Kingdom of Sealy-branded bedding products.. Dyer joined Dyer Holdings in 1983, was named CEO in 1986 and chairman in 2008. Under his  leadership in the mattress and bedding industry, Sealy has been expanded its reach in Asia.
