Wayfair unveils plans for four pop-up shops

Wayfair is taking its online home furnishings shopping concept to the brick-and-mortar world with four pop-up stores opening Aug. 1.

The stores will give consumers access to a variety of products ranging from wall art, throw pillows and candles to seasonal kitchen items for the fall holidays and bed and bath essentials. Sites chosen for the stores, which are being called Wayfair Décor & Inspiration Shops, are Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois; Streets of Southpoint in Durham, North Carolina; King of Prussia Mall in Prussia, Pennsylvania.; and Tysons Corner Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

“We are excited to open four new pop-up shop locations across the U.S. this summer,” says Courtney Lawrie, director of brand marketing, in a prepared release. “The Wayfair Décor & Inspiration Shop will provide our customers a place to go for home ideas and inspiration as well as a chance to shop over 250 budget-friendly and eclectic home décor items to purchase in-shop for the first time ever.”

According to the company, product selection will be updated through the three-month run, providing customers an opportunity to discover new items on each visit. Customers will also have the option to browse online and place orders for delivery.
