What’s the next market stop for Platin’s Latin American buyers and manufacturers?


LAS VEGAS — Made in Mexico sourcing took center stage in the Platin Pavilion showroom at summer Las Vegas Market, and Platin officials say that Platin American Alliance is planning to expand its presence at other markets around the U.S.

“The Platin Pavilion project has the intention to expand its presence to Atlanta and High Point markets in the near future,” said Daniel Ríos, COO. “In today’s logistics challenged world, the Platin pavilion made-in-Mexico stamp distinguishes itself as an alternative source for buyers in the U.S. and Canada, offering custom premium quality and service with fast delivery at a fair cost from trade partners in Mexico.”

More than 950 buyers from 30 Latin American countries are members of Platin American Alliance, a project started in 2016 with a preferred buyers’ program to incentivize Latin American buyers to attend U.S. trade shows. Members include retail stores, store owners, developers, architects and interior designers. The organization launched the Platin Pavilion in 2019 at Las Vegas Market.

“Our goal is to showcase the best manufacturers and artist collections from Mexico and Latin America to U.S. buyers,” Ríos said. “We have seen an increase of buyer activity at Las Vegas Market. First-time visitors, prospects and buyers were elated with the Platin Pavilion feature collections, and we received orders as well as new registrations to buy online throughout the year.”

For the summer market, Platin hosted three events: Made in Mexico, Source in Mexico and an open house. Ríos noted that buyer response was strong and comments positive.

“Our offering presents buyers with a wide range of product selection,” he said. “We have artists and manufacturing companies. On the art pieces, one of our featured artists just came back from a showing in Milan, Italy. We have frame and unframed art, and our manufacturing companies are so diverse and range from furniture, leather furniture, mirror and mirror frames, chairs, home decor accessories, large fiber glass bases & planters, and more.

“The Platin Pavilion project it’s proud to be able present alternative preselected Mexican manufacturing companies willing to work on custom projects for each of our U.S. and Canada buyers.”

In addition to made in Mexico product sourcing, Ríos says that Platin provides its buyers and sellers with a beneficial trade partner.

“We have the advantage of the trade agreements between the U.S., Mexico and Canada, and in today’s economy, logistics timing and related costs present a challenge,” he said. “México has positioned itself as a top choice to source from due to its manufacturing quality, logistic capabilities, delivery time, custom service and related total cost.

“In the near future, we as Platin will continue to incentivize B2B between our Latin American buyers with brands present at U.S. trade shows,” Rios continued. “On the other hand, with Platin Pavilion we want to continue build up our offering of preselected artists and manufacturing companies presenting their collections at our showroom in Las Vegas Market and online to U.S. buyers.”
